20 litre water can price in Kottayam (2026): what you really pay
At Refillr, a 19-litre refill in Kottayam costs ₹75 for a single jar, or ₹60–₹70 per jar on prepaid plans, plus 5% GST. You also pay a one-time refundable jar deposit of ₹200–₹400 per jar. Delivery on your area's service day is free. The real cost depends on these four parts, not the headline price.
Most people compare water cans on the price written on the WhatsApp message or the delivery slip. That number is only one of four things you actually pay. If you check all four, the cheapest-looking supplier is often not the cheapest one.
The four parts of a water can price
- Price per refill — what you pay each time a full jar replaces your empty one.
- Jar deposit — a one-time amount for the jar itself, returned when you stop. Ask whether it is refundable and in writing.
- GST — packaged drinking water attracts GST. Check whether the quoted price includes it.
- Delivery charges — some suppliers add a charge for small orders, floors without a lift, or urgent delivery.
Refillr prices in Kottayam (October 2026)
| Plan | Refills | Per jar | You pay | Jar deposit (refundable) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One-time order | 1 | ₹75 | ₹75 | ₹400 / jar |
| Solo Plan | 10 | ₹70 | ₹700 | ₹400 / jar |
| Home Plan | 30 | ₹65 | ₹1,950 | ₹300 / jar |
| Reserve Plan | 60 | ₹60 | ₹3,600 | ₹200 / jar (free dispenser) |
Prepaid refills have no expiry, so buying 30 or 60 at once does not mean you must use them within a month. Delivery on your area’s fixed service days is free. A delivery on a different day carries a priority fee, which is waived once a month on the Home Plan and twice a month on the Reserve Plan.
Worked example: a family of four
A family of four that uses jar water for drinking only typically needs around 18–20 jars a month (see our guide on how many jars a family needs). Here is what a month costs on each option:
| Option | Jars / month | Monthly cost before GST |
|---|---|---|
| Single orders | 20 | ₹1,500 |
| Home Plan rate | 20 | ₹1,300 |
| Reserve Plan rate | 20 | ₹1,200 |
The difference between paying per order and the Reserve rate is ₹300 a month for the same water — before counting the free dispenser that comes with the Reserve Plan.
What a low price can hide
- Old, scratched jars that are hard to clean on the inside.
- No labelling — no plant name, FSSAI licence number or batch date on the jar.
- No fixed delivery day, so you end up calling and waiting.
- A deposit that is “adjusted” rather than refunded when you stop.
Prepaid refills that never expire. Refundable jar deposit. No lock-in.
