Prepaid water bundle vs pay-per-jar: which costs less for your home?
If you use more than about ten jars a month, a prepaid bundle almost always costs less than paying per jar. At Refillr a single refill is ₹75, while a 30-jar bundle works out at ₹65 a jar and a 60-jar bundle at ₹60. The refundable deposit is separate and is returned when you stop.
Paying per jar feels flexible, and for some households it really is the right choice. But for any home that drinks packaged water every day, the per-jar price quietly adds up. This guide does the arithmetic so you can decide without guessing.
The price per jar, side by side
| Option | Jars | Price per jar | Total | Deposit per jar |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One-time order | 1 | ₹75 | ₹75 | ₹400 |
| Solo Plan | 10 | ₹70 | ₹700 | ₹400 |
| Home Plan | 30 | ₹65 | ₹1,950 | ₹300 |
| Reserve Plan | 60 | ₹60 | ₹3,600 | ₹200 |
What you save at each size
Buying 10 jars one at a time costs ₹750. The Solo Plan costs ₹700, a saving of ₹50. For 30 jars, single orders cost ₹2,250 against ₹1,950 on the Home Plan, saving ₹300. For 60 jars, single orders cost ₹4,500 against ₹3,600 on the Reserve Plan, saving ₹900.
How the deposit fits in
The deposit is not a cost. It is a refundable amount for each jar you hold, paid once and returned when the jars come back in good condition. Because it is refunded, compare plans on the price per jar, not on what you pay on day one. The one thing to check is that your supplier writes the deposit on the receipt.

A simple rule for choosing
- Count how many jars your home uses in a month. If you are unsure, use our jar-count guide.
- Under about five jars a month: pay per jar, or start with the Solo Plan if you will drink water regularly.
- Five to fifteen jars a month: the Solo or Home Plan, depending on how fast you use them.
- Twenty or more jars a month, or an office: the Home or Reserve Plan, where the price per jar is lowest.

When pay-per-jar is the better choice
- You are trying a supplier for the first time and want no commitment.
- You are away for long periods and a bundle would sit unused.
- You need a one-off supply for a small gathering.
Using one bundle for more than one place
If you spend your day at an office and your evenings at home, one prepaid bundle can serve both addresses, so you do not need two accounts or two plans.

Prepaid refills that never expire. Refundable jar deposit. No lock-in.
Frequently asked questions
Is a prepaid water bundle worth it?
If you use more than about ten jars a month, yes. A 30-jar Home Plan costs ₹65 a jar against ₹75 for a single order, which is a saving of ₹300 on 30 jars before GST.
Do prepaid jars expire?
Please check your plan terms for the validity period before you buy. Choose a bundle size you will use within that time.
Is the jar deposit extra on a bundle?
Yes. The deposit is a refundable amount per jar held and is separate from the price of the refills.
Can I give unused refills to someone else?
Yes. Unused refills can be transferred to family or friends, so a bundle does not go to waste if your needs change.
Which plan is best for a family of four?
A family of four typically needs about 18–20 jars a month for drinking, or 24–26 if you also cook with jar water, so the Home Plan usually has the lowest cost per jar.
