How to switch your water can supplier without running out of water
Count the jars you hold from your current supplier and ask for your deposit back. Start the new supplier before the old one collects their jars, so one delivery overlaps. Agree your new delivery day, return the old jars on their next visit, and keep the receipt for your deposit refund.
Why people switch
- Late or missed deliveries, and having to call every time.
- Old, scratched or cloudy jars.
- No bill, no GST invoice and no record of what was delivered.
- Prices that change without notice.
The switching checklist
- Count the jars in your home from your current supplier, including empties.
- Ask how your deposit will be refunded, and get it in writing if you can.
- Check the new supplier delivers to your area, and on which days.
- Place your first order with the new supplier before you run out.
- Return all of the old supplier’s jars on their next visit and collect your deposit.
- Clean your dispenser before the first new jar goes on it.
Questions to ask the new supplier
- Which plant fills the water, and what is its FSSAI licence number?
- What are the delivery days for my area, and is delivery on those days free?
- What is the deposit, and is it refundable?
- Do I get a bill or GST invoice?
- What happens if I need water on a different day?

How do I get my water jar deposit back from my old supplier?
Return all their jars, including empties, and ask for the deposit at the time of collection. Keep any receipt you were given when you paid it.
Will I run out of water while switching?
Not if you overlap: place your first order with the new supplier before the old supplier collects their jars.
Can I try Refillr with one jar first?
Yes. A one-time order of a single 19L refill costs ₹75 plus GST, with a refundable jar deposit.
